Tauranga Moana Rainbow Collective is based on diversity, inclusivity and creativity. We aim to encourage acceptance in Tauranga Moana and to build inclusive relationships between all LGBTQIA+ communities and allies.
Why is being proud of who you are important?
Having a strong and positive identity is important for maintaining good health and mental wellbeing. Identity with a group that shares similar values and beliefs creates a sense of belonging, purpose, self-esteem, and resilience, and provides social support. A strong identity can protect people against the stress caused by discrimination, and ultimately saves lives.
Any time throughout the year, if you have an event, function, party, picnic or pride month idea you want to add and promote through our networks, we would love for you to reach out to us to help this kaupapa.
Tauranga Pride Month: April 2027
Pride Month is powered by our community, and planning is already underway for April 2027. Tauranga Moana Rainbow Collective helps bring together and promote community-led events across the month, making it easier for everyone to get involved. If you're a business, organisation, community group or individual with an event idea, or you'd like support to bring one to life, we'd love to hear from you. Because Pride is for everyone, and together we can celebrate the diversity, creativity and sense of belonging that make Tauranga Moana such a special place to call home.
